SERVICE
I am a dual professional combining 25+ years working in the fashion industry and 10+ years working in fashion education.
For the past ten years I have worked at The Fashion Retail Academy in London lecturing on Level 4 Buying and Level 3 Fashion Business courses on modules including Communication, Styling, Buying and social media, PR and Marketing. Teaching creative modules on Digital Skills specifically Photoshop.
I have also worked on modules that cover Entrepreneurship and how to set up and run your own business. I have a proved track record of successful mentoring of students working with many students who now have their own businesses or work with leading fashion brands such as Selfridges, Lipsy, Ted Baker, Harrods, All Saints to name a few.
Working closely with young people on their career choices has exposed me to the UCAS process having helped with around 700 applications, where all students gained places on their chosen courses. I have also supported students to gain jobs and work experience in the industry, many had no idea what area of fashion they wanted to work in.
Recently I have been asked my parents of teens who are leaving school and want to get into the industry but are not sure what college choices are available to them. This has driven me to create my Career Service to support them and their families.
"Madeleine King Creative Careers Services offers services that cover initial support on accessing the industry, suggested college routes, University routes and the varying courses, support with UCAS applications and related college projects.
I am hoping to help encourage the next generation of talent into the creative industries "
